Biography
Gabriel Canard completed his Ph.D thesis (2004) at the University of Dijon (France) under the guidance of Dr. J.-M. Barbe in the group of Pr. R. Guilard. His thesis was dealing with the selective adsorption of CO by hybrid materials incorporating Co(III) corroles. As a Postdoc (2005), in Prof. Claude Piguet’s group (Geneva, Switzerland), he has developed helicates incorporating lanthanide ions. In 2007, as an Assistant Professor at Aix-Marseille University, he joined Pr. T. S. Balaban to work on the synthesis and self-assembly of porphyrinoids. He is currently Associate Professor in the group of Dr. O. Siri (CINaM) where his research is dedicated to porphyrinoids, azacalixarenes, benzoquinone-diimines and azacalixphyrins.
